Weather satellites are something we have grown so accostomed to being there, it’s easy to forget how much we rely on them. When the NOAA satellite that keeps watch on the eastern United States and Atlantic Ocean started having problems, fortunately there was a spare satellite orbiting over the center of the country that could be moved into service.
