Ut Prosim translates to “That I May Serve”.  It is the motto of my alma mater, Virginia Tech.

This site started as a convenient place to run cgi scripts.  It evolved to a record of useful websites and other resources for use in outreach efforts to get kids excited about astronomy and science in general.   I’m always open to suggestions of activities, websites, and even fun facts that can be used to get people excited about space again.

I’m an amateur astronomer and volunteer with the NASA/JPL Solar System Ambassador program.  I also contribute to the WRAL WeatherCenter blog on space topics.  Views are my own not those of NASA, The Jet Propulsion Laboratory, CalTech or my employer’s.

I generally do outreach in southwestern Wake County, NC (Cary, Morrisville, Apex, Holly Springs, etc.) but have done programs as far north as Maryland and far south as Florida.  Just depends on my schedule.  If you are interested in having me or another Solar System Ambassador join your class, scout troop, library, museum, or barn raising:
